Brand guidelines make your life easier.

 

Guidelines are not necessarily the most exciting documents, but essential nevertheless. They keep things in line and ensure that the brand is communicated consistently across multiple touchpoints, sometimes across the globe. For this to be successful, the writing must not leave room for too much interpretation. Not everything can be pinned down as this will make the rules too rigid and restrictive. But with the more complex documents – those of 200 pages and more – my experience with legal texts has certainly helped.
