TypeTalk.
Teaching typography at McCann

I’ve started this project in 2013 following my talk on the history of typography at McCann (from the Phoenicians to 1950s advertising in 45 minutes). I had the opportunity to repeat the talk at the Institute for Practitioners in Advertising (IPA). The event was sold out and speaking in front of 100 people was a good experience.

I’m doing this type of work because I like to condense something complex into digestible form. A talk would always take numerous weekends to prepare, but in the end it was always worth the hours. I learnt a lot along the way and sharing my findings later has been a rewarding experience. For the same reason I created the TypeTalk newsletter initiative. The newsletter had an edition of 300 and was always a printed piece that was preceded by posters a week before and en email on the day it landed on the desks.

Below a few examples. If you are interested in the talk, please get in touch!
