Mosaics resurrected.

Very often they spell out the name of the Victorian business owner, whose shop has long disappeared or it’s a building name or house number. I started noticing mosaics a while ago, when I saw a few of them neglected and dirty and thought: what a shame that nobody is looking after them. I wondered what it must have looked like when it was new and decided to take a photo and redraw the mosaic. I didn’t do it in its entirety, but just to a level that gives an idea and focuses on the typography. And now you have them right in front of you, elevated and for appreciation.

If you want a mosaic recreated to hang on your wall, please get in touch!
